The Sweden Conservation Commission works to protect and enhance the health and beauty of the Town’s natural resources. The Commission plays an advisory role to the Planning and Select Boards and coordinates community volunteer projects. Members plant and tend plantings in and around the Town offices and organize seasonal roadside clean-up efforts.

Sweden, Maine; A Conservation and Historical Guide to a Rural Community was published by the Conservation Commission in 1977, and reprinted in 1997.

The Commission currently has three members, each serving a five-year term. The Commission meets annually and on an as-needed basis.
