Sweden Planning Board Meeting Thursday, May 28, 2020 at 7pm

The Sweden Planning Board will hold a meeting on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at 7:00 PM to review a conditional use permit application.

This meeting will be a continuation of business begun at the May 19, 2020 Planning Board Meeting.

Due to the special circumstances created by the coronavirus, the meeting will be held virtually via Zoom Video.

Licenses and Registrations during COVID-19

COVID-19 Legislation regarding licenses and registrations:

Licenses & Registrations (Part F). (1) Extends until 30 days after the end of the public health emergency, registrations for motor vehicles, all-terrain vehicles (ATV), watercraft and dogs issued by the municipality. (2) Allows a municipality, without conducting a hearing, to grant a request for a renewal of a liquor license. (3) Requires the Secretary of State and the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife to expand online access to licensing and registration systems (e.g., motor vehicle, trailer, ATV or watercraft registration, etc.), regardless of whether the municipality currently participates in the online service.

UPDATE: The Town Office staff is working to have rapid renewal available to Sweden residents. We will be working diligently to have this service up and running as soon as possible. When the service is available, a direct link will be posted to take your directly to the site to re-register vehicles and motorcycles. Thank you.

Town Office Re-opening Plan

The Sweden Town Office is currently closed to the public through the month of May. The Town is working on a re-opening schedule for the Town Office in June, 2020. Once a schedule has been identified, the Office will begin taking calls to visit the Office by appointment only. Code Enforcement appointments will be on an appointment only basis. If you need immediate assistance, please email Jenna Domer, Administrative Assistant to the Select Board at jennadomer@swedenmaine.org or contact Chair of the Select Board Ryan Fowler at 774-236-9065 or Selectmen Ron Shorey at 207-647-5687.
