The Sweden Selectboard will meet on Friday, February 28, 2020 at 10:00am at the Sweden Town Office to review the Budget Committee votes on the Annual Town Meeting Warrant and to sign the Annual Town Meeting Warrant for posting.
The March Planning Board Meeting has been rescheduled to Monday, March 16, 2020 at 7pm at the Sweden Town Office.
The Democratic Caucus for Sweden will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2020 from 2pm-5pm at the Sweden Town Office. Snow date will be Sunday, March 15, 2020 from 2pm-5pm.

Voter registration will be 4:30-5:30pm and the program will start at 5:30pm (speeches followed by town caucuses)

The Sweden Volunteer Fire Department will be sponsoring a presentation to Sweden residents on smoke exposures and hydrogen cyanide and what the firefighters and the public need to know about structural smoke. The event will take place on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at the Sweden Town Meeting House from 6:30pm to 9:00pm. An instructor from Pine Point Training will be present. This presentation is an educational seminar so that the public understands the modern day hazards associated with Volunteer Firefighting.

The Board of Selectmen voted on the following Winter road closings for the 2019/2020 season: Trull Brook Road from Lois Lane to Rt. 93, 105 Marr Road to Hardscrabble Road, Bennett Road and Fern Drive from the 1st intersection to the Lovell Town line from October 1, 2019 to May 1, 2020. The Town of Sweden has been informed by the Selectmen of Lovell that “Maine DOT is recommending Foster Bridge that carries Fern Drive over Kezar River in the Town of Lovell, in Maine DOT Region 1, be closed to all traffic in order to protect the safety of the travelling public. The bridge shall be closed as soon as practical and no later than June 14th, 2019. ”
