Last year the Town had applied to Senator Susan Collins to request federal funding to build a new fire station to replace the existing outdated facility. The request was for $1.15 million dollars which was then included in the fiscal year 2024 Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development Appropriations bill, which passed and was signed into law this past week. This was made possible by our EMA Director, Tommie McKenzie, and with the support of United States Senator, Susan M. Collins. We are very grateful to the Senator for her efforts. We will be scheduling a public meeting soon to discuss the next steps in building a new Fire Station, and keep the public informed on our progress.
