Due to the expected winter storm and with your safety in mind, the Sweden Select Board feels it would be inadvisable to go forward with the Annual Town Meeting scheduled for Saturday, March 23rd at 9:00am. There is an Emergency Select Board meeting tonight at 6pm, Friday March 22nd at the Town Office. We will address postponing the Annual Meeting and determine a rescheduled date. This meeting is expected to be brief, but the public is welcome to attend. Because the Annual Town Meeting must legally proceed at the time and place specified on the warrant, the Select Board will meet tomorrow morning at 9:00am to very briefly convene, and then immediately adjourn due to weather. There is no need to attend that meeting. A new Annual Town Meeting date will be decided upon this evening, a new warrant posted, and an update sent out. Thank you, and please stay safe.
